Unloved: Elipsis

The person who know the rules can win the game. Elipsis is a great multi-monologue played by PUPQC Musa. It is full of intellectual thoughts although some of the dialogue are not pleasant but I understand it because it is rated SPG play that is said before the play start. The theme unloved is very visible in the play. What does we feel if we are become unloved by the person who we love... we became bitter and that I saw in the play. The characters of the play is very bitter specially to Suzie and Bimbo who are sharing the love and attention of Raphael. I also made fun by the drug queens that is in the play that is very funny.

I really wonder what does the play would be because I pay 50 PHP for it. I wonder if it will be enough.. and I think its worth it because I learn much and also feel the passion in it. To the characters, theme, effort and dialogue that much surprised me because it made by my Professor Sir Karl Christian Abalos.

I know that this is the last blog that I will post here for Humanities class but the thoughts and ideas of our Professor will still be with us. The fun times while singing Pay phone by Maroon 5 is the best event that I will not forgot in the class. For our great Professor Karl Christian Abalos. I really want to say thank you for all! God Bless..

Ang Lihim ni Antonio Review

Antonio's Secret is very stunning movie ever I watched. This is my first time to watch a pink film. It has lots of x-scene and very awkward. The story of a teenager boy, and his quest to true self and what its purpose in this world.

The story is nice that can awaken the mind of audience. I think Antonio is suffering identity crisis that he don't know who really he is and still exploring himself by trying things that he know that is forbidden. "Whatever you believe about yourself on the inside is what you will manifest on the outside" a quote that I know related to the movie.  The film maybe is about exploitation to gender specially to gays because of the fact that society discriminate them.

Pleasantville Review

Pleasantville a great movie that tells us that every person have the right to show their feelings or emotions. In the movie, the people in Pleasantville living according conservative values, but that they didn't really choose those values in the first place. I can see how some people would perceive it as merely another mouthpiece of liberalism, but I watched it twice, and I only noticed it attacking bigotry and censorship.

This movie is about to live life to the fullest -- to truly feel "alive" -- you need to take the good with the bad. Sweeping things under the rug and just acting "pleasant" all the time, is no way to live. That's what "Peter Parker" speech at the end to his mother. Bad things happen, it's part of life. Having passion brings with it positives and negatives -- but suppressing true feelings for the sake of "pleasantness" is an empty life.

Another thing people in Pleasantville are afraid to change that was happen from the start of time until the end. I know that it still happen in our time. That when we are afraid of certain things in ourselves, we show those fears onto other things. This film is about more than the way things were and how change is good. It's about the way we see ourselves inside and out. If life is dull and non-changing, then all you get is black and white (emo colors). "It can't stop at once, because it's in you, and you can't stop something that's inside you" -David. One of the famous quote in the movie Pleasantville. There is always something inside us that want to go out.

Unfree: Installation Art "Till Death do us part"

In today’s society. It’s common to hear of couples who become so immersed in building successful careers, managing busy schedules and dealing with societal issues that many eventually grow apart from one another.

But as you go about your daily routines, it is imperative that you do not lose sight of your marriage. In Genesis 2:24. The Bible teaches that married couples are to become one. Marriage links you and your spouse together in unity, in which you work, build and share with one another in order for the two of you to grow jointly and not separately.

It is also important to keep in mind that as you evolve as one with your spouse, that you realize that oneness does not negate your individuality. We all have our individual interests; however, problems arise when couples misguidedly invest more time, energy and effort into their individual interests than their marriage, which may lead to disorder, tension, distance, and sometimes divorce.

People became unfree because of the responsibility to each other. The first time I saw this installation art, there’s a thing that immediately comes to my mind “ love “ people become married because of this thing that we called “ love “ and became unfree because of the moral law that our religion tell to us.

Unborn: Performance Art "Finding Nemo" Review

PUP students from BSBA MM 1-1 did a performance art called "Finding Nemo" in August 25 2012. In this piece, there's a fish inside the watered container with a small cup and invited viewers to participate by filling water from the container. As seen in the video, at the beginning of the piece majority of the people are just throwing the water in the stage. Near the end of their performance, participants refill the water to the container so the fish can be still alive.
Life is addressed directly in this piece because the fish is becoming a life symbol. Like government, art needs the participation of the many in order not to become the property of a powerful and narrowly self-interested few.

"Finding Nemo" commented on violence and abuse to life in my opinion. To be related to the theme "unborn" tell by Prof. Karl Christian Abalos. The fish as the subject of the performance art symbolize the innocent organism in which trying to kill by the environment and the water as the medium symbolize the that life gradually wasting by the audience. I was very intrigued by this piece of art. When I began watching the video I was not sure what to expect from the audience when they were encouraged to fill the cup with water and just throw away. As the performance progressed, people do not care about the fish inside the container they just care to what they do to the water that they have from the container. I was surprised by the end of the performance art that some people refill the container with water people still care about life even though they like torturing the fish. They just prolong the sufferings of the innocent organism.  I feel that "Finding Nemo" is an important piece of art because it expose the violence and abuse especially to life.

Am I really free?

Am I have the freedom to do what I want, to tell what I want or to get what I want. For humans, freedom is the capacity to choose among alternatives or act in certain situations independently from natural, social or divine restraints.

It is an exemption from external control. Means that I have the freedom but for all of it I must bear in mind that it has limitations. That's why divine laws and man laws were made. Even I'm from a country that is democratic (Philippines) I have to take in mind that to all of my actions I must be responsible for it. As Jean-Paul Sartre speaks of the individual "condemned to be free". By this he meant that people are put on Earth without their consent and from then on they are completely responsible for their actions.

Therefore, I can say that I am really free but as a quotation from spiderman says "With great power comes a great responsibility". Freedom have always affiliate by a responsibility.

Who has to know when we lived such fragile lives it is the best way we survive. Let me know that I’ve don’t wrong when I’ve known this all along. You are the only one that needs to know.

Did anyone likes those persons who always have fake smiles on their face. Of course not specially those jester who always have too much make-ups, bright and colorful clothes, afro hair styles and a big shoes. I am sure that was a totally weird thing.

Tracing life back when an innocent child was forced by his friends to watch a movie (I can’t remember the title of it) about an emo killer clown. Everybody were liked the movie except him. Everyone were singing “I love you, you love me there’s an emo clown on tv” (In the tone of barney) and him who was watching the movie with closed eyes so he cannot see that thing. That’s why he really hate clowns as he grown up.

I’ll keep you this Dirty Little Secret. Don’t tell anyone or you’ll be just another regret hope that you can keep it. Who has to know? The way he feels inside. Those thoughts I can’t deny and now I try to lie. It is not me!

Sounds of Silence

It's my representation of Sounds of Silence.

They are talking without speaking.

Hoping that Lord may hear they're prayer through deliberate communication.

But we don't know what they praying all about.

We only know that they were kneeling and praying.

That's why this is a sound of silence.

We don't know the truth why they doing this.

We just make our perspectives.

But the truth is this are My Parents asking for help to Lord to guide my little brother

that was confine in Children's Hospital because of dengue shock syndrome.

Who Do I Think I am

For everyday Lord have made I was always thinking what for what I will be for the future. Careful doing things because I know it can affect to my future and also to what others will think of me. Society criticize everything. They judging others by what they see to them. “We are not judging the feelings of others by what we might feel in their place” -Oliver Goldsmith. But it’s the nature of human, even as they selves they don’t want to be also criticized.

Naughty, silly and rebellious. I thought I had known myself. But when I was alone in my room I have notice the real me that buried by the society and all criticism that attributed to me. “Do you ever feel out of place like somehow you just don’t belong and no one understands you” – it’s from a lyrics of one of my favorite band and I’m like of that person tells. Doing such things that is not usual or common to others make me feel that I’m a weird person. I like doing things that anyone don’t do because I want to be unique but even though I try I make up with mess. I’m sorry I can’t be perfect. But being a human I think it’s normal.

God poured so many talents and I wish I had some but I think I don’t or maybe I’m not yet recognize it. I have to be contented for what I have and appreciate it. Like i’m good in computer. Doing some programming activity, searching net, etc. And also playing computer games the best past time for me. I love also to draw and wishing to be a good on it so I alway practicing. Using pencil and a little imagination I can express myself through lines, shapes and shading and eventually it will be an artistic sketch. Listening to mellow music is one of my hobbies. I thank that only music stays on me when everybody else walked out.

A person who only want is to accept by the society. That is who I think I am.
